Kelli Stewart
obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology
in 2001, from Philadelphia University, located in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. She began working at Virtua Hospital in
Camden, New Jersey, as a clinical counselor for children
who have been diagnosed with severe emotional and behavioral
difficulties. While working there she gained a Masters
Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University in Camden,
New Jersey in 2005.
In 2005, she became
a member of the North American Association of Christian
Social Workers (NACSW) and National Association of Social
Workers (NASW). She continued her studies and, in 2006,
earned a Masters in Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also became
a Licensed Social Worker (LSW).
Kelli is also
a member of the New Jersey Army National Guard. From
1995-2001, she worked as a chaplain’s assistant.
Through this experience she has provided Christian care
to hundreds of soldiers as a member of both the enlisted
and, currently, the officer ranks.
On September 11th,
2001 she became a part of the New Jersey National Guard
ministry team that provided presence for state activated
soldiers and members of government agencies at both
Ground Zero and the Freshkills Dumpsite in New York.
In 2002, she was
promoted to chaplain candidate and began working with
the Family Programs Chaplain as co-facilitator for marriage
enrichment retreats given by the New Jersey Guard and
sponsored by the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement
Program (PREP).
In March of 2006,
Kelli began working with the National Guard Recruit
Holding Company in Sea Girt, New Jersey; providing ministry
and guidance to high school youth who will soon depart
for basic training and their occupational specialty
schools.
